The 800-acre Lakefront Redevelopment Project, the most ambitious development/redevelopment project in Syracuse's history, has quickly become a reality.
Anchoring the northern end of this project is the Carousel Center Mall. This 1,400,000 square foot regional shopping center, with plans to double in size over the next several years, brings variety, style and shoppers to the Central New York Community.
At the opposite end of the Lakefront project lies Franklin Square. The creation of a new infrastructure which includes Franklin Square Park, a creek walk and vehicular and pedestrian bridges have set the stage for a number of new and redeveloped facilities. These renovations include the conversion of industrial structures into first-class residential condominiums and Class A office space. The surrounding neighborhood includes newly developed senior citizen apartments and clean industrial space.
Franklin Square offers free on-site parking while being located adjacent to the Central Business District, thus providing `downtown' advantages with the accessibility of suburban developments.
The Pioneer Companies transformed the 27,157 square foot former Allen Tool building into modern office space and developed over 110,000 square feet of Class A office space in two new buildings - 507 Plum Street and 400 West Division Street. Each features richly finished lobbies and common areas. Tenant spaces include full-height solid core wooden doors, parabolic lighting and upgraded ceiling tiles. Under floor duct systems facilitate the distribution of telephone, electrical and data services, while state-of-the-art HVAC and energy management systems provide tenant comfort in all seasons.
