Situated on 22 acres within the city limits of Syracuse, New York, the development of Midler Crossing represents the largest private Brownfield clean up of its kind in New York State. This project is located on what was formerly the site of the Prosperity Company, a 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility that had been vacant since the 1960's.
Completed under the auspices of the New York State Brownfield Clean-up Program, this project required the demolition of all existing structures and environmental remediation of the soil and ground water. Approximately 90,000 gallons of TCE/PCE were removed from the site through the use of In-Situ Thermal Desorption (ISTD) which involves heating of the ground to 200 degrees, collecting the vapors, and cleaning them.
Located adjacent to Erie Boulevard the main retail artery of Syracuse, Midler Crossing is within 3 miles of a population of 190,000 and no more than a 20 minute drive for any of the 450,000 residents of Onondaga County. This high traffic location, with excellent visibility and direct access averages 17,000 cars a day from Midler Avenue and 96,800 cars a day from Interstate 690.
Anchor tenants of the project include a165,000 square foot Lowe's Home Improvement store and the Central New York flagship branch of the State Employees Federal Credit Union. Approximately 30,000 square feet of additional outparcel and in-line space is currently still available.
