Liberty Commons was built in 1994 - the first Senior Living Community developed by Pioneer. It is a 56,000 square foot facility, located in Manlius, New York, containing 80 apartments, each with its own bathroom and kitchenette. Also included in the community is a central dining room, arts and crafts area, living room, bar, library, exercise room, television lounge, hair salon and a number of small lounges. The building is situated along Limestone Creek and features two large screened-in porches, a gazebo and a secured private garden area. It consists of two floors and features a large turret facing Flume Road which is visible from a northerly approach through the Village of Manlius.

The common areas are warmly finished in shades of teal, coral and beige. Many of the furnishings are traditionally styled in the mission oak design, with soft and colorful patterned fabrics. Several lounges have either wicker or wrought iron patio style furniture with fabric cushions that coordinate with the draperies, borders and blinds. The fireplaces with ceramic tile give the public areas a homelike feel. The private dining room is richly decorated with mission oak furniture and mission style chandeliers.
